Our Community Involvement
TD supports over 6,000 organizations that work to enrich and strengthen our local communities across North America and the U.K..
We view community giving as an opportunity to drive positive change in society. TD donates millions of dollars each year to causes that matter to our customers, employees and stakeholders. Over the past five years alone, our corporate donations have exceeded $300 million.

If you could help your community today what would you do?
“I’d give it to the libraries”.
“Maybe a coat drive”.
“Buying food for the homeless”.
“Doing something in like a group home to help kids, especially during the holidays”.
TD surprised customers with $30,000 to bring their idea to life. And 24 hours to make it happen.
“We don’t want to do it next month, next week, it is for today”.
“We’re gonna do it now”.
“Is this for real?”. “It’s real, it’s absolutely real”.
This is what they did.
“Children that are in foster care, they’re fighters, but they never get that boost of people making them feel better about themselves. These kids, they can’t be forgotten”.
“Living in a wheelchair for the past 18 years, I know how hard it can be to get into places. The home is somewhere you have comfort, and you should be able to get into your home, and being able to do that is something I want to be able to give to people”.
“I grew up playing sports, and everything I learned about life could relate back to sports. We always try to do something to help the less fortunate kids in the neighborhood”.
“So I said I’m going to host a big event, a beautiful venue, and these girls are gonna come in, they’re gonna have dresses, makeovers, their hair done.
Today.
Today!”.
“So today we’re at Rosa’s house, and she needs accessibility to be able to get in and out of her house. So today we’re installing a new ramp. I’m feeling great – being able to help people in the community, it’s such a great feeling. We want to be able to help you, and pay to get the ramp in so that you can get in and out of your house easier. I’ll look after the bill, OK?”.
“You’re my angel – thank you so much!”.
“You’re very welcome”.
“We’re talkin bout thousands of kids that’s gonna use this equipment over the next five to ten years. It’s gonna have a major impact on the youth”.
“I don’t know what to say – I could cry. On behalf of our league, and the youth – thank you so much!”.
“Please, reach those goals. Don’t let anybody tell you what you can not do. Because you can do anything, and I’m proud of each and every last one of you. Thank you”.
“It’s been almost four years and I never come out of the house”.
“Ah, see now you’ll be able to”.
“I just… guys I can’t believe it, I have no words”.
“It’s not about money, it’s about your commitment to making a difference in your community”.
“I knew the kids would be excited, but just to see it actually on their faces it have an effect right now”.
“I just wanna say I love her, I love them, they are two great, strong inspirational women that I just really look up to”.
“It’s a life changer, really it is, and it’s changed my life forever, I really appreciate it”.
Turns out there are a lot of people with great ideas. So they got their chance too.

“There’s good people in the world, you know, and a lot of people don’t see that every day. This experience has shown me that”.
“I never dreamed of a opportunity to give back to somebody else at this level. Sooner or later in life you got to give back to somebody else. It doesn’t matter if you’re five years old or fifty years old, you can give something back. Give something back to your community. So that’s where this dream came from today, and that’s the way this dream got to continue from today”.

While financial support is important, it can only go so far. We also contribute our services by building collaborative partnerships with community organizations. Where possible, TD strives to give volunteer time, resources and skills to help tackle pressing community issues.
Local involvement is more than a tradition at TD – it’s part of our DNA. Our people’s dedication to the community comes to life in many ways, from volunteering at local schools or joining a neighborhood tree planting effort to contributing to financial literacy programs.
Leveraging TD’s Resources for Greater Impact
We give back to our communities in the following ways:
Corporate Giving: We’re proud to support non-profits in carrying out their missions and delivering new and improved services.
Employee Volunteerism: We encourage our employees’ volunteer efforts and actively look to support community initiatives that can involve the TD team.
Community Partnerships: TD proudly works together with many organizations to help tackle important societal challenges. These partnerships are typically multi-year commitments where TD contributes financial and business expertise, marketing support and more.
Thought Leadership: TD supports and participates in multi-stakeholder initiatives that aim to generate discussion, ideas and best practices for addressing key community issues.
